Run your own server

The same Stowpoke, on a machine you control. No account, no fee, no one else's cloud. Free, and in beta: tell us what's awkward at support@stowpoke.com.

What you get

Everything that matters

Places, items, tags, NFC, QR and barcode scanning, QR labels, undo, the website and export.

One access token

You choose a secret. Every phone and browser you trust uses it. Nobody can sign up.

Your data, your disk

One folder holds everything. Back it up like any other folder.

Not in the beta: separate people in a household, linking a screen by QR code, and the T-Embed reader. Those belong to the Stowpoke service.

Set it up

  1. 1

    Make a token

    openssl rand -base64 32

Keep it. It is the password to your inventory.

  2. 2

    Start the server

docker run -d --name stowpoke --restart unless-stopped \
      -p 8787:8787 -v stowpoke:/data \
      -e API_TOKEN=YOUR_TOKEN \
      ghcr.io/slepp/stowpoke-server:latest

    Check it: curl localhost:8787/api/health

  3. 3

    Choose how to reach it

    • At home, on Wi‑FiNothing more. Use 192.168.1.20:8787 (your machine's address) in the app.
    • From anywherePut HTTPS in front. With Caddy: caddy reverse-proxy --from stowpoke.example.com --to localhost:8787. A Cloudflare Tunnel or Tailscale works too.
  4. 4

    Connect

iPhone: Settings → My own server → address and token.
Web: open your address and enter the token.

Other ways to run it
