Getting started

  1. Open Stowpoke on your iPhone. You can use it on the phone alone, with no account.
  2. Add a place, such as Garage, and a box inside it, such as Bin 12.
  3. Tag the box with an NFC tag, a QR label or its barcode, then scan it. Scan the things you put in it; each shows where it went.
  4. Later, search for a thing in Find. Stowpoke shows its place and when it last moved.

The Stowpoke service

Syncing across devices, sharing an inventory with up to 10 people and using this website need the optional yearly subscription, which the App Store manages: you can see the price, renew or cancel in your Apple Account's subscriptions. One subscription covers an inventory of yours and everyone in it; people you invite join free and should not subscribe for it. A higher plan covers several inventories of your own, such as a home and a workshop. You can be in other people's inventories (a band's rehearsal room, say) at no cost, alongside your own. Using Stowpoke on your phone alone, or with your own server, never needs it.

When a subscription ends, its inventories stay readable for 60 days (in storage after 20) and can be exported; subscribing again within that time brings them back. Then they are deleted. See Privacy.

Your inventory is yours

Export everything you need to recreate your setup from Settings, in the app or on this website, at any time, with or without a subscription.
